Audio Visual Harmony

Nate | July 4, 2009

This is incremental drift. Something based of  of  a machine called a whiteney box.

Check out the versions with sound here(http://www.coverpop.com/whitney/index.php?var=v7).

There a lot of different versions with many different types of sound scales.

Adjust your speakers so you don’t get blasted by the sound at that website.

See if you can find one really like.

It feels cool when it goes around once and you get to hear that harmonic “boom.”

Here is a link to a video presentation by the person who ressurected the harmonies (and created the visual above).

Jim Bumgardner at Gel 2007 from Gel Conference on Vimeo.

He talks about some interesting computer graphics history and concepts, information theory, screensavers, as well as showing and talking about other visual toys.

Enjoy
